I recently went to this cute little spot called Mandi Restaurant and boy, was it a pleasant surprise! Despite its size, the vibe was super cozy and the staff were super friendly. We started with lamb Mandi and chicken Mandi. Seriously, we wiped out every plate! The food was seriously good, and we even joked about how we were doing them a favor by saving them from washing dishes. With food this delicious and service this friendly, I can totally see this restaurant growing into a big-time favorite. If you're looking for a laid-back spot with amazing food, definitely give them a try !
Food was amazing so is hospitality. And elderly person probably owner, suggested us lamb hanith over lamb Mandi which was way different than regular Mandi and had unique taste which I loved. Chicken Mandi was also super good and both the meats are tensely cooked. Their chai was also delicious. Restaurant was small and could only accommodate smaller groups as seating is limited.
We found this hidden gem when we were searching for somewhere to eat for lunch after an appointment. We were not familiar with the area. Rather than eat at the nearby IKEA, we decided to try this place out. The reviewers couldn't stop talking about the rice. So, we decided to try the chicken and lamb meals. The rice is exceptional. So light, fluffy and delicious! I'm craving it now as I write. I highly recommend you give this place a try! It's worth the drive up from Pleasant Prairie!
Stopped into Mandis for lunch unexpectedly
We’d stopped at a place across the street that was closed (when it was supposed to be open)
We’d never had or heard of this place before but love Levantine food
My wife and I ordered the lamb mandi.
The food came out quickly and was very good. I have nothing to compare to as I’ve never had before but the lamb was flavorful tender and served on a plate of rice. 5/5
It was served with a bowl of soup that I personally didn’t care for . 3/5
Restaurant was small and empty. We came at an off hour so we’re helped quickly.
The cashier was also the cook and only one working (possibly owner). Nice lady 5/5
Definitely a strong 4, maybe 4.5 but not a 5/5
First time trying Mandi and omg this was delicious!! The chicken was cooked so perfectly that it would literally melt in your mouth!! The combo with rice and salad makes it such a hearty meal! We came in at around 7ish on a Wednesday night and it wasn’t packed, and the lady at the counter was super helpful and very quick with the service. Highly recommend!!!
The place is tiny and very casual. The handful of tables won’t fit in the restaurant if there are chairs on all sides. I didn’t care! People are friendly, including those sitting in chairs right next to you. The food excited me. So many of these reviewers recommend the lamb mandi! All of them were right! The Kebda (liver) was seasoned brilliantly. Don’t hesitate to try this restaurant. Just be prepared to possibly have to wait for a seat. It’s worth it.
I had Chicken Mandi. Great taste!😍 Excellent food! Highly recommended!
The food was not over cooked or undercooked , it was seasoned good, very tasty, and overall I highly recommend for Yemeni food, mandi restaurant is very good, I personally also love the lamb very much!!
